Instructions Step 1: Mix Dry Ingredients In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Step 2: Mix Wet Ingredients In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Step 3: Combine & Add Chocolate Chips Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix! Some lumps are okay. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Step 4: Heat the Pan Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
Step 5: Cook the Pancakes – Pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the pan for each pancake. – Cook until bubbles form on the surface (about 2 minutes), then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown. – Repeat with the remaining batter.
